[CES 2008] CES Security Coverage
RDN will be posting coverage of security-oriented releases at the 2008 CES both here and on tumblr, prefixing all post titles with [CES 2008].
The fun starts with:
- Maxtor BlackArmor external storage solution(external HD with encryption; cheap, but no word on OS X, Linux or BSD compat)
- Yoggie Firestick Pico (USB hardware Linux-based firewall for secure, mobile internet access, not sure it's going to help the 90% of mobile folks who go wireless, tho)

Not Exactly On Amazon's Best-seller List
It may not be Amazon.com or the NYT, but our paper on the Vista firewall is now #1 over at the SANS Reading Room. (Phil gave me the nod on this today).
We may have some updates when SP1 comes out. Watch here for more info.

Phil & I are in the SANS reading room!
Hey true believers (used to love that in the Spidey comics as a kid).
A paper by PhilK & I on the Windows Vista Firewall - Microsoft Vista Firewall; Dissected - (Phil did the heavy lifting on this one) is now up on SANS in their Reading Room.
You should find some interesting things you might not be aware of, including policy management & distribution and how to skirt past the beast - even without being an administrator.
Please feel free to drop a note in the comments here on what you liked/disliked, if you have corrections or would like to share your observations on the security tool-de rigeur in Microsoft's latest desktop OS.
